From the very early stages of this project, the emphasis from all involved was to echo the maturity of the site with a design that would blend with its surroundings while providing a modern dwelling for a growing family. The front portion of the dwelling draws on traditional forms, proportions and materials with tall sash windows, central entrance porch, a traditional render finish and a natural slate roof. A contemporary extension to the rear with large glazing draws the extensive gardens inside blurring the lines between inside and out. The use of contemporary materials internally such as polished concrete on the floor and around the stove are complemented by the warmth of timber flooring, fitted furniture and carefully selected finishes. The attention to detailing throughout the construction by a team of experienced skilled contractors who pride themselves on delivering the highest quality possible, resulted in a comfortable well-built family home more than worthy of its surroundings.
